Carolyn Bryant is a certified public accountant licensed in California and Texas. A native of Southern California, she received her MBA at California State University Fullerton and passed the CPA exam in May 2000, earning the Elijah Watt Sells award for her score. Currently, she lives in a small Texas town near Austin and runs a tax practice there. She belongs to several non-profit organizations, and supports the local elementary school through Reading Is Fundamental and with donations of books and school supplies.

Hello! My name is Yannis and I am currently a senior. I graduated from the International School of Los Angeles and really enjoyed my time immersed in French culture.At my current school, I am taking all IB/AP classes. My favorite subjects are languages (Spanish and French), History, and English.At school, I am the president of the French Club, in which we learn and spread french culture. I am also heavily involved in my school’s MUN program, practicing my speech/debate skills and learning about the world’s issues. Some of my hobbies include going to the gym, producing music, and exploring new hikes.I have always enjoyed helping others with homework, whether it was my friends or other peers. Being a part of Oui Tutor is a unique opportunity that has allowed me to do something I am good at, while also doing something that I love and feel good about.I hope to be able to help all the wonderful kids out there in learning about French or any other subject!

Hi! My name is Simone Aitken-Penn and I am the co-CEO of Oui Tutor. This is my third year as a tutor and my second year on the board. I graduated from the International School of OC in 2021 and I am still close with my fellow alumni. 

In addition to my work with Oui Tutor, I am a Varsity girls golf player and a Girl Scout Ambassador. I also serve as president of the French Honor Society and the Oui Tutor Club at my high school while enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program. My time as a board member has taught me valuable leadership, management, and communication skills. While working with my fellow tutors, I’ve learned how to effectively guide our organization and support Oui Tutor’s mission. My involvement as a board member and tutor has deepened my appreciation for community service and the impact we can have on students’ lives

Hello, I am William Kerr, junior at Mission Viejo High School, located in Mission Viejo, California, United States. I am interested in history and film studies. I also have a deep passion for comic books and fiction. I aspire to become a history teacher or a film director and screenplay writer in the future. I also have a passion for helping the community and tutoring.

Hi! I'm Maddie Chao, and I'm the vice president and social media chair of Oui Tutor. I'm a senior in high school and this is my fourth year with Oui Tutor, and my third on the board. I'm currently enrolled in many AP and honors courses, and I'm passionate about helping young kids succeed in the classroom. I attended the International School of Orange County for 11 years and am studying both Spanish and French in high school. I am fluent in French, having passed the DELF B2, as well as the AP French and Spanish exams.  

 

Outside of school, I'm a Level 10 Junior-Olympic gymnast, as well as the Director of Design of my grade’s current event online newspaper, Our Generation. I have become experienced in working with kids through tutoring students of diverse ages as well as coaching gymnastics. I love getting to know each student personally and watching them grow to achieve their goals. I can’t wait for our first session!

Hi, I’m Cait Calvert. This is my first year on the board and I am a part of the social media team for OuiTutor. I’m a senior involved in film and my school’s swim and dive team. I have maintained a 4.2 GPA throughout all my years of high school, something I’m extremely proud of. I’m also a gymnastics coach for young kids between the ages of 1 and a half to 12. I am also a leader for Sunday life groups for kids 4th and 5th grade at my local church. I am constantly working with kids and have developed a good sense of understanding and meeting their needs. I am looking forward to expanding our program.

Hi! I am Joyce Rizko. This is my third year volunteering at OuiTutor, and I am also an executive board member working as the communications secretary. Currently, I am a senior at Sage Hill School and take multiple rigorous classes to pursue my future in STEM. At school, my extracurriculars include many literature-based clubs, in which I hold leadership positions.

In the fall, I also managed the girl’s volleyball team and plan to do the same with the beach volleyball team in the spring. Outside of school, I spend my time crocheting and enjoying time with my family. Having studied at the French school, LILA, I can speak French fluently. Additionally, I can understand Arabic and speak to an extent. I am so excited to take part in the education of the next generation and can not wait to get to know this year’s students!

Hi! I’m Katherine Stone. I’m a first-year board member and OuiTutor’s recruitment chair. I love working with kids and have participated as a counselor and intern for both academic and traditional summer camps.

 I participate in the youth group and choir at my church, and I’m a member of my school’s Mock Trial team. I’m a senior in the International Baccalaureate program at my high school, and I plan to earn a Seal of Biliteracy in French.

 In my free time, I love to cook and travel, and I plan to study abroad in college. I’m so excited to learn with our students this year!

Ernest is our talented webmaster. He is a father of 3 and a devoted husband.  He has patiently collaborated with our team to create this website.

He also loves pastry.

Ernest believes in giving and has shared his talents with many organizations.  We are grateful that he has shared his skills with Oui Tutor.

Hi! I’m Sara Farnoush and I’m the co-CEO of Oui Tutor. I’m a senior in high school, and I love teaching kids. I’ve been a part of Oui Tutor for 4 years now, and I appreciate how much it builds my leadership and management skills while letting me connect with the students. I’m an IB student with many APs, but my schedule is flexible for tutoring.

Outside of school, I’m in track and field, mock trial, and Girl Scouts, as well as president of the CSF club. I’ve been around kids a lot with camp counseling and my previous tutoring experience, so I’ve learned that even with its challenges, helping kids understand material and concepts is very rewarding. Looking forward to our first session!

Hi! I’m Minnie. I am a first year board member on the Oui Tutor social media team. I’m a sophomore in high school taking multiple AP and honors classes. Outside of school, I am a level 10 junior-olympic gymnast and I also coach young kids in gymnastics. In my free time I enjoy baking, painting, and listening to music. I love working with kids and have a passion for helping others succeed. So excited for our first session!

Helping establish Oui Tutor is one of the things I’m most proud of. I’ll be attending college at Baylor University in Texas as a pre-med student. Service, improving the lives of others, and making a difference are all reasons why Oui Tutor mattered to me and why I want to become a doctor.  I graduated from Damien High School and am currently on a gap year working on my real estate license, helping Oui Tutor with special projects, and looking forward to college in the fall.

Hi! My name’s Soleil Murillo and I’m so excited to be tutoring as this is my second year being a part of Oui Tutor! I’ve been on varsity track and field for three years and I love spending time with others, especially when I can help them improve and succeed as much as possible. I can’t wait to continue working with this club and these kids and it’s so fun watching them grow and learn with you!

Hi!! I’m Venice and this is my first year on the board. I’m a junior in high school and I’m involved with anything I can be really. At my school, I do swimming, choir, mock trial, and I’m on the board for various clubs!! I love helping kids learn and finding what they enjoy from school. Hello! My name is Alexandre Caballero de Saint Aubert(Alex Caballero)I was a founding member of Oui Tutor and during my time as a tutor, I achieved the most amount of direct tutoring time. I am currently majoring in French and Spanish at Coastline Community College to eventually become an ATA-certified translator in French and Spanish. I take pride in learning and teaching the intricacies of the French language alongside aiding others to express themselves in French. I am also a very passionate believer in the importance of preserving linguistical culture and vocabulary for all languages.

My name is Venice Harrison, and I'm a senior at Foothill High School. I've been a part of Oui Tutor for 3 years, and additionally to being a board member, I work online with the kids at Vibrant Minds.

I hope to be an architect or a teacher/professor (or an architect professor!) in the future as I love designing and working with kids. I'm hoping to get into mostly small liberal arts colleges as I seek to further my education beyond high school. Beyond just academics, I'm involved with many things at my school! I do choir, mock trial, swimming, and I'm in the International Baccalaureate program.

Additionally, I thoroughly enjoy anything involving art or music.

This is my second year with Oui Tutor, but this is my first year on the board. I'm a current high school senior. I love being able to help kids out with any questions they have about their homework..

One day, I hope to become a Psychologist for Adolescents, and Oui tutor has been a huge stepping stone in helping me reach my goals. In my free time I like to spend time working at my job, listening to music, and playing video games with my friends.

Hi! I'm Lauren Baik, and I am currently a member of the Oui Tutor Board on the social media team. I'm a senior in high school and this is my second year at Oui Tutor. I have taken many AP and honors courses, and I hope to inspire in others a love for learning and help them succeed in their future education.

Outside of the classroom, I am a competitive figure skater and hold leadership positions in school clubs such as a current events online newspaper. Hi! My name is Sophie Semaan, I’m one of the Oui Tutor board members. This is my second year with Oui Tutor and I’m a sophomore in high school.

Oui tutor has taught me so much about working in teams and building an understanding of how non-profit organizations work. I’ve been involved with teaching kids for four years now and I’m really passionate about it. I volunteer part-time at the local library assisting and conducting many academic activities for kids.

I’m very involved in extracurriculars such as dance, musical theater, Girl Scouts and I’m a two-time MVP medalist in mock trial. I love being able to develop new teaching styles and methods to help kids of all ages grasp new ideas and materials. I’m looking forward to a productive year!
